hi all i really need some help. the spreadsheet i have has hundreds of street
names on it and it list all the house numbers, so for example "high street" will be on the spreadsheet 40 times then i'll have another 100 or more streets with all the numbers displayed as well, when i chose auto filter it brings down a drop down menu with all the streets on the spreadsheet to choose, how do i get excel to display that list, so instead of having 1000+ of road details on the spreadsheet it only lists the street names on the spreadsheet. |

Try using a custom filter to search for street names that you want instead of
having to see all of the addresses in the drop down menu. For example, your custom filter could specify "CONTAINS high street" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "shamoo" wrote: hi all i really need some help. the spreadsheet i have has hundreds of street names on it and it list all the house numbers, so for example "high street" will be on the spreadsheet 40 times then i'll have another 100 or more streets with all the numbers displayed as well, when i chose auto filter it brings down a drop down menu with all the streets on the spreadsheet to choose, how do i get excel to display that list, so instead of having 1000+ of road details on the spreadsheet it only lists the street names on the spreadsheet. |
