Default Error Message - File will NOT save

If that's the complete message that you see, then it doesn't sound like a built
in excel prompt (to me anyway).

I'd close excel (losing the changes that you made!)

And restart excel in safe mode (disabling any "helpful" macros that may be
causing the prompt):

Windows start button|Run
type:
excel /safe

File|Open your workbook
make a minor change
Try saving the workbook.

If it works ok, talk to the developer and ask why you can't save it.

If this doesn't work, I think you'll have to post more details.
