Default Insert attachments stopped working

I use a spreadsheet to keep track of some of the work I do.
I insert pictures related to each issue as attachments (I only want to
display the icon in the row).
The method I used to use, since I received the pictures by e-mail, was
to right click on the picture, select "COPY" and paste into the
spreadsheet using the right click function as well.

Now, using the same excel file, the paste option is greyed out. I
cannot perform a drag and drop from the e-mail (the mouse cursor turns
into the interdiction sign) or the desktop after copying the pictures
there (no message, no interdiction sign, no complaint, it's like I only
moved the mouse over without ever dragging the pictures).

I can go through the insertobjectshow_icon, but that is a hassle
considering the number of files I have to attach.

Anyone knows how to fix the copy/paste method?
I'm using Excel, Outlook and Windows all in version 2000.

Problem solved (sort of).
I do everything in Access now. Attachments work well.
