Default interactive excel

Hi! I'm user of excel 2007 and i would like to make excel spreadsheet useful
for pipeline layout. I have few question regarding same.

1) Can i create area in excel where i can draw line free hand (or blank
graph with defined latitude and longitude which can be edited with drawing
tools) Basis idea is to have clean area on excel with defiend latitude and
longitude (or X & Y co-ordinates). This will unable me to draw pipeline (or
consider i want excel to measure length of drawn line) from one point to
another point and latitude and longitude will help me to know length of
pipeline. I want to pull this calculated pipeline lenght from this drawing
area, which can be further used for calculations.

2) Can we put layers on this above mentioned area. This will unable me to
compare differnt pipeline layout.

to help out further i just want to use excel to make scale model of pipeline
(by using funtus in drawing toolbar) and want excel to measure all this
length.

Please let me know if this is possible.
