Default Auto sum and vista

how do you get the auto sum inVista to actually add, what it is doing is
leaving the formula in the box and not what the total should be. I would be
greatful for any advice

Vista is a Microsoft Operating System and has no relation to Excel.

Or do you mean Excel 2007 version?

Generally if the formula is showing it means the cell has been formatted as
text.

Re-format to General and re-enter the formula.

Or you have "View Formulas" enabled.
