Default how to SAVE new "formatting rule(s)"?

I use MS Office 2007. I need a little assistance regarding:

How to SAVE new formatting rule(s)?
I know how to create the rule I need to apply, but can that "new rule" be
saved so next time I need to use it, I will not have to redefine it again.

Thanks in advance!
