Default make custom buttons for macros on quick access bar excel 2007

It used to be relatively simple to add a macro to the toolbar, make/edit a
custom button image to go with it, and voila.

Now it seems you can only accomplish with a lot of whoops, programming
skills, and then still end up withsoemthing much less easy to use than the
Excel 2003 and earlier versions.

Am I missing something here? Is MS going to make some change to fix this in
the future? What the heck was MS thinking?

If you want to learn about modifying the ribbon, you can start at Ron de Bruin's
site:
http://www.rondebruin.nl/ribbon.htm
http://www.rondebruin.nl/qat.htm -- For macros for all workbooks (saved as an
addin)
or
