Default Shortcut key for selecting column does not work

I believe the shortcut key for selecting column in Excel should be
<Ctrl-Space.

It does not work on my computer.

Can someone show me how to fix this?

Thanks.

does shift-space work for you (should select a row)?
this might help work out where the problem lies.

Hi,

Shift-space selects the row. It works.
In fact, Ctrl-space used to work on my same computer. Not sure what cause it
to be changed.

Do other CTRL + ? shortcuts work?

i.e. CTRL + 9 to hide a row or CTRL + 0 to hide a column.

Yes Dibben, both CTRL +0 & +9 works. Just tried them out.

So looks like your CRTL key is not faulty.

CRTL + space is the combo for select the activecell column

Now what is it about your CTRL + space that won't select a column?

I cannot replicate the problem but let's wait for others to leap in with a fix.
