Right now I have a fresh data set extracted from some database and sent to me
in an excel file. The date field is in the current format: YYYY-MM-DD. I need it to be in MM-DD-YYYY. So, I thought I could achieve this by simply highlighting the cells and changing the format to the correct date format. However, when I do this nothing changes unless I actually double click in the cell...then it will re-format the data how I want to view it. In addition to this problem, when I try to import my data set into Access, it will only import the cells that I double click in to change it to the date format. The others are not getting pulled in because Access isn't reading them as a date. Is there any way to re-format all the cells without having to double click in each one? Any help would prove to be beneficial. Thanks, Jason |

Enter 1 into an empty cell, right click the cell 'Copy'
Highlight the whole range with the dates in it, rightclick in the range, 'Paste Special', check 'Multiply' OK. Regards, Alan. "Jason" wrote in message ...
