Default Using Excel 2007 saved as 97-2003

I have excel 2007 but I am saving the doc. as 97-2003 version and opens fine
in excel 2007 but when I open it in a older version it isn't the same? It
checks for compatibility when I save it and it should be but it won't open
right in the older version. any suggestions?

My suggestion is you tell us what "isn't the same" is.

Do you get an error?
Are formula results wrong?
Does it not open at all?

This group is good, but we're not mindreaders.

Regards,
Fred.
