Default why won't my excel spreadsheet formulas update when I copy them?

A little more detail would help, but perhaps you have absolute
addresses in the formula, so they will always calculate to the same
value. Perhaps your worksheet is set to Manual Calculation mode (click
on Tools | Options | Calculation tab to change it). Or maybe the cell
is formatted as text - format the cell(s) as General, then F2 followed
by <Enter to change them.
