Default Have XP Office '02, sent Excel ss '03 - can't open!

When I go to open a spreadsheet that someone just sent me, it asks for my
2003 product key. I, of course, only have a product key for my 2002 Office XP
for Students and Teachers, which doesn't work (of course, but I had to try).
Now what do I do???
