Excel does not have tabs, such as Word's tabs.

The sequence of movement using the tab key can be only from left to right through columns then down to the next row. But you can have it only go to certian cells for adding data. The cells on a sheet are by default "Locked", you can unlock the ones used for data entry and "Protect" the worksheet and the tab key will advance you through those "Unlocked" cells. To do this gotoformatcellsprotectionremove the check mark from "Locked". Now gototoolsprotectionprotect sheet. You do not have to use a password but can if it is appropriate. Now when you move through your worksheet with the tab key it will only go to those unlocked cells. Again I know of no way to change the pattern of movement, it is left to right through the columns then down to the next row with unlocked cells and again left to right. I hope this helps you Mike Rogers "rjohnson1977" wrote: how do you set tabs in excel to move to specific cells? |

Select your range to do the data entry first.
Then you can tab through the selected cells in that range. If you have to do it lots of times, you can name the range. Select the cells (start with cell 2, then cell 3, ... and finish up with cell 1) Insert|Name|Define Then just select that named range when you want to tab through the range. rjohnson1977 wrote: how do you set tabs in excel to move to specific cells? -- Dave Peterson |
