Default If not in "Recycle Bin " then where?

I somehow deleted an Excel file that I have been working on for many hours.
It is not in the recycle bin. I did a search and cannot find it. Please help
if you have any ideas.

Thanks

My idea would be that your recycle bin is set to be bypassed when you delete.

If other deleted files show up in the bin then that would not be the case.

Had you saved it before you "deleted" it?

If not, it would not be on your computer.

If you were working on an existing workbook then that should still be around,
but not with the many hours of work extant.
