Default Excel 2002 - Supress digits in a cell linked to a different workbo

I have Excel 2002

I have created a worksheet which islinked to a different workbook. I would
like to supress the last three numbers in the cells in the current workbook
(but not in teh first one if that is possible) and wondered whether anyone
knew if you could do this and if so how or whether this is beyond the
capabilities of Excel.

Many thanks in anticipation of any responses.

Can you provide an example of what you're trying to accomplish? It's not at
all clear to me.

Default Excel 2002 - Supress digits in a cell linked to a different wo

Hi there, not sure how to give more information but will try. Say I have a
spreadsheet and I create a link within that spreadsheet to figures in a
different book or sheet then i want to hide the last three numbers in each
cell. So for instance if the figure in the cell is 123456, all i want to
show in the cell on the second sheet only is 123, i want the 456 to be hidden.

Not sure whether this clarifies the issue but hope it helps.

Many thanks.
