#VALUE! error - Occurs when the wrong type of argument or operand
Regarding Excel 2003 - I copied a range of (what I thought were) numbers from
a webpage into a sheet. When I then tried to work with these numbers I got the above error message. In tracing the formula problem, there appeared in the trace box a double quote (") ahead of the number indicating that it's really text. I tried to use the =value( ) function to convert the text to numbers but this returned the same error. The double quote (") does not appear in the cell editing box and no amount of fomatting seems to work. Any suggestions? |

You need to "clean" your data.
