I would like to format a cell as Day:Hour:Minute. I tried DD:HH:MM but
doesn't seem to work. I would like to use this for transit time, Days:Hours:Minutes. Please help. |

You'll have to be more specific than "doesn't seem to work". That format
seems OK to me. What's the problem? -- David Biddulph "Duncan Help" wrote in message ... I would like to format a cell as Day:Hour:Minute. I tried DD:HH:MM but doesn't seem to work. I would like to use this for transit time, Days:Hours:Minutes. Please help. |

Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? If you enter the American style
date (mm/dd/yy) and a time, such as 2/9/2008 6:01:05 pm, you will get dd:00:00 (9:00:00) with your formatting. Are you trying to get: 9:06:01?? Tyro "Duncan Help" wrote in message ... What version of Excel are you using, Tyro?
With Excel 2003 and your input of "2/9/2008 6:01:05 pm", I see 02:18:01 or 09:18:01 depending on whether my Windows regional settings call for dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy. I'm intrigued as to why your settings should give 9:00:00 instead of 09:18:01? When I replied earlier to the OP, I should have said that I wouldn't recommend the dd:hh:mm format, as it could readily be confused with [hh]:mm:ss, so perhaps something like dd hh:mm would be better, but if the OP particularly wants dd:hh:mm I don't see why it doesn't work for him (or apparently for you). -- David Biddulph "Tyro" wrote in message ...
