I do consulting work and use Excel to track my client / project hours.
Date/client/project/hours/billing rate are logged on the first sheet. I have additional worksheets for each of my major clients with VBA auto activate procedures that search the first sheet for any references to that particular client and display any unbilled hours, sorted by project with hour and dollar sub-totals. I use a Word document with an embedded spreadsheet object for my invoices. When I'm invoicing, I use the above-mentioned client specfic worksheet. Frequently, if I leave the VBA worksheet active when I activate the spreadsheet object in my Word document, I'll get a message stating that excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. I lived with this problem for about 5 years with Office XP. I upgraded to Office Pro 2007 about a year ago and still experience the same problem. Any ideas on how to prevent this? |
