If you already saved it, you will need to retrieve your backup copy and

Hidden columns will sort along with the unhidden ones if the columns on either
side of the hidden one are selected or adjacent columns are selected. Excel will pop up a message asking if you want to "expand the selection". If you click "No" then you get what you asked for.
