I have a series of data in columns and rows. The row titles are in a colum
that runs from I3 through I15. I have row titles in all rows except I7. When I put a row title in I7, the data in column L and in the data source column E are replaced with the VALUE notation. When I delete the text in I7, the numbers return. Any thoughts? Thank you Al Charbonneau - al |

It appears that I7 which is blank is being used in formulas in columns E and
L and the blank is probably being treated as a 0 (zero) which is acceptable to the formulas. But when you enter text ins I7, the text is not acceptable to the formulas and they return a #Value! error. "al" wrote in message ... I have a series of data in columns and rows. Hi Al,
This suggests that the data in column L and in the data source column E are formulas. Move to one of the cells that displays the VALUE error message and note the formula on the Formula Bar. Tell us what the formulas are and we can probably help. Most likely the function is using the entry in I7 to make a calculation but it doesn't like what you entered. -- Cheers, Shane Devenshire "al" wrote: I have a series of data in columns and rows. Thank you for responding. I checked the formula box and there is no formula
listed. I checked other titles in column I and there are no formula associated with any of the titles in column I. Any additional thoughts? -- al "ShaneDevenshire" wrote: Hi Al, This suggests that the data in column L and in the data source column E are formulas. Found it! Somehow I included I8 while summing a range of data in column E!
Once I deleted I8 from the summation, it accepted the text.
