/ character causes menu bar to be active
Can anyone tell me why when I open an excel document and enter the "/"
character into a cell, the character does not appear but the menu bar becomes active. How can I avoid this from happening? Thanks, -- jaustin |

You could put a single speech mark (') infront of the / - the ' will

Hi,
Check the setting of Tools Options Transition Microsoft Office Excel Menu Key. Entering a single quote first stops the menu key from working. I found the answer in another thread. I went to Tools - Options - Transition
