Default Opening File

When I have an Excel file open...and I want to open another file, I click on :

File
Open
then, I select the file and open it

Here is the quandry:

ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE LISTING OF FILES IN THE DEFAULT LOCATION (C:\Documents
and Settings\user\My Documents\Excel) IS NO LONGER IN ALPHABETIC ORDER.
SOMEHOW, THE ORDER HAS BEEN SKEWED.

Opening up the above folder does have the files listed (correctly)
alphabetically; but, the "OPEN" screen from Excel lists the order of the
files differently!

How did this occur?
Can it be fixed?

Thanks,

FLKulchar

Click FILE/OPEN and in the OPEN dialog box right-click in the file listbox.
Click ARRANGE ICONS BY in the shortcut menu and select the sort flavor you
prefer.

That is a WOW!!
Thank you...I did NOT realize the 'right-click' option existed.

Thanks for the help.
