Default Excel2007: the "fill color" function does not work! HELP PLEASE!!!

Probably I have changed some setting in my computer without knowing: my
Office 2007 suddendly does not let me use the fill color function. Also the
ribbon is only gray. Can anybody help me please? Thanks
