I have had the answer to my original question but have a couple of spanners
to throw in to the works!!

The formula is on a different sheet to the data to which the formula
pertains and the set of numbers is actually a formula of say column x * Y.
Can my original query still be done??!?!?

This doesn't make any sense. It obviously relates to another thread,
so why have you started a new one? You are not going to get any help
just because you say it's urgent.

OK Apologies, calm down I am trying to do this for a work related project and
was merely trying to ask for help i.e. the purpose of a forum. And as my
reply to the original thread remains further down the list (uusually on
forums the latest posts appear at the top) I was/am worried that I may not
get an answer.

Its not a question of Pete calming down.

He was quite rightly pointing out that if you don't stay in the same thread,
how on earth do we know what your problem is (was)?

People are here to help (voluntarily), but very few people have the time to
go searching for what you originally posted, to be able to answer you.

If you are going to start a new thread (not advised), then at least post the
problem, and what response you have already received.
