Default Problems Clicking on a Cell

Good morning
Does anyone know how to fix this problem:
I go to click on one cell and it picks many cells for me
Please help this is really slowing me down.

Try hitting the F8 key.

anyone else have any other suggestions?

Try *clicking* (not rolling) the scroll wheel on your mouse a few times.

Default Problems Clicking on a Cell

F8 is a toggle. Note the EXT on the status bar goes off and on as you
repeatedly hit F8. You want it off.
