Default Why has Excel stopped showing colour changes to fonts & text?

Microsoft Excel has stopped showing changes made to font color and cell fill
colour. In addition it does not display any such formatting changes that have
been made in any file that I open. The file retains these changes (they show
on other user's PC's when I email the files to them), but it does not display
on my PC. I am running Excel 2003.
