-----Original Message----- Hi if anyone out there can help me I would be very grateful. I am trying to find an exaxmple of how to use the Forecast formula. Many thanks Sandra . Hi, Be very careful using linear regression formulas to predict future data values. First you need to know if your data is stable, or if it is being affected by causes that are not part of the process, ie unplanned and unwanted. These are unstable and unpredictable. Even if your data is stable, there is always random variation within it. So , you will get a different "forecast" every time you add a new data value. This is clearly nonsense. I am willing to expand on this offline. Regards |
