paste "values only" not possible
Hi. Im trying to concatenate cells snd only get the formula showing =A1&B1,
not the result. I looked through help, it says to cut and paste "only values" but this option doesn't appear! (I get 6 options by clicking the arrow next to the clipboard, only to do with format.) I tried special paste and selected "values" but its not having any of it. What's going wrong? ANy help would be great. Thanks. |

Matty
Try Tools, Options, View and if the Show Formulas checkbox is ticked then tick it again. Select your formula and press Ctrl + C then go to Edit, Paste Special, VAlues the paste option is not available until you have copied something into the memory. If so, you would not enter a formula, just text made up of some characters (that happened to be "=A1&B1"). Start again, with a cell NOT formatted as text. Type in the formula and you should see the result, not the formula. |
