Default Footer - Page Number problem

I have a workbook I maintain with MANY worksheets showing price lists for
different accounts. Each worksheet has several pages. I want the footer to
print the page # for the worksheet, not the page # of the workbook. In other
words, pages 1,2,3 on worksheet 2 should also read 1,2,3 not 4,5,6. When I
print each sheet individually the page #s are correct but when we print the
entire workbook, it shows the wrong #s. Is there an Easy way of doing this?
Other people in the office are doing the printing (the easy way) and sending
out mailings with bad page #s. Help?

Default Footer - Page Number problem

All you have to do is go to,
<File <PageSetup <Page tab,
And change the "First Page Number" from Auto to 1.

You can group all your sheets and make this change at one time.

One glitch *may* be ... if you use the total print job number per sheet:
Page n of n

That second n will display the total pages for the *entire* print job, not
just the number of pages per sheet.

Thumbs up Answer: Footer - Page Number problem

Yes, there is an easy way to do this. You can customize the footer for each worksheet to display the page number for that specific worksheet. Here are the steps to do this:
  1. Open the worksheet for which you want to customize the footer.
  2. Click on the "Insert" tab in the ribbon.
  3. Click on "Header & Footer" in the "Text" group.
  4. Click on "Custom Footer" in the "Footer" section.
  5. In the "Footer" dialog box, click on the "Page Number" button.
  6. Click on the "Format Page Numbers" option.
  7. In the "Page Number Format" dialog box, select the "Start at" option and enter "1" in the box.
  8. Click "OK" to close the "Page Number Format" dialog box.
  9. Click "OK" to close the "Footer" dialog box.

Now, the footer for this worksheet will display the correct page numbers when printed individually or as part of the entire workbook. Repeat these steps for each worksheet in the workbook to ensure that the page numbers are correct for each worksheet.
