How retain calculated value in a cell despite changes to inputs
Please, could any one help me to save the result resent in a cell following a
calculation (by functions), despite changing the parameters affecting the results? For example; If I do a*b=c I want the result c to be saved in a cell while I change b to d in the same function. If now a*d=e I would like a row, somewhat like the below c e .. .. .. Hope this is clear. Thank you |

I'm not sure exactly what is desired but cutting and then pasting special as value into the same cell is a pretty standard method. How retain calculated value in a cell despite changes to inputs
Two ideas come to mind: you can copy the formula cell and Paste As
Values into another cell. That would retain the result of the formula. The other idea is to copy the formula into another cell, and then change the formula. Forewarned is forearmed: if you paste as values you may forget the origin of the value, or you may forget that a cell is no longer a dynamic formula but a static value. DaveO |

Without cell references and proper formulas it is difficult to tell what you
want but here's a try. A1 has a number. Column B has numbers in each cell. In C1 enter =$A$1*B1 Drag/Copy C1 down column C as far as you have numbers in column B Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 17 Oct 2007 06:58:02 -0700, pnic wrote: Please, could any one help me to save the result resent in a cell following a calculation (by functions), despite changing the parameters affecting the results?
