Default slooooooo performance

Everything about Excel is slow--scrolling up/down, saving a file,
moving from one cell to another. I'm using a Dell Latitude D810 with 2
GB RAM. I'd appreciate any help...it's very frustrating to have to sit
there and WAIT for things to happen.

With XL open but not doing anything open Windows Task Manager, (Ctrl + Alt +
Del) then select Performance. How much CPU capacity is being used?
