How do you paste filtered data and prevent hidden cells from receiveing
the data when you paste.

You don't.

Maybe you can sort the range that's filtered by some key field and put all the
cells that are going to be pasted in a contiguous area??

highlight the selection--press F5 key--click special--select visible cells
only copy and paste...only visible rows get pasted...

filter your data. Select the data and press F5 and click on special and
select visible cells only and copy the data and paste it.
