Default Conditional Formatting using an image for the background

We are creating a scoreboard for our Match Play golf tournament similar to
the Ryder Cup format. When a team goes ahead in a match, we will enter their
score like +1, +2, +3 and so on into a cell beside the team name. Using
conditional formatting, I know that I can change the color of the cell and
even add a pattern. But we want to use an image (like an American Flag or
European Flag) as the background behind the score. Any ideas on how to add
an image as the cell background? Can I create my own 'pattern' using an
image? Thanks in advance for your help. LOVE this forum!
