Default Excel 2003 no longer automatically updates equations & charts

My copy of Excel 2003 has recently stopped automatically updating formulas
and charts in my worksheets, i.e. when I change values I have to basically
reset the equation or my source data to see the changes. I noticed this
after installing Office SP2, and opening old Lotus 1-2-3 files, although all
my Excel files are affected, not just the ones converted from Lotus. Any
thoughts?
