Default Formatting .txt File

I have imported a txt file into Excel and there are five txt fields that are
all contained within one xls field. The txt data has several spaces in
between the fields. Is there a way to assign the txt fields to different xls
fields?

Try using TEXT TO COLUMNS on the Data menu.
