Default Converting Excel 07 to older versions

I quite often set up workbooks in 07 for use in older versions of excel. But
when the older version is opened it opens as 4 separate workbooks. Each are
the same. You can save changes in that version and when it is opened again it
is still 4 books. Is there away to convert 07 to stop this happening?

Four workbooks? Or four windows for the same workbook? Does it say
Book1.xls:1, :2, etc., in the window title bar? You can close the individual
windows, leaving one open.

Does it happen all the time? Do you notice the multiple windows in 2007?

The safest thing to do then is to use 2003 to set up the workbooks.
