![]() Has MS done anything for the slow opening of excel in Office 2007? What a crime to have to open 2-3 other applications of excel just to get one you want and at that it still takes 1-2 minutes. Disgusting! Bob M. |

Bob,
I personally think that you would be better off saving your documents in an earlier version. They seem to open up quicker and calculate quicker as well! If you're trying to open up a file from a shortcut before opening Excel, I suggest you open Excel first. There is a workaround to fix this, but it's easier to just open Excel before trying to open an Excel file. (You'll find that you will have to repair or remove and reinstall this version fairly often, which means you'll be forever having to redo the workaround as well.) It seems Mr MS has made sure that we all rush to purchase the next version after 2007, by making this 2007 version such a mule! Rob "robert morris" wrote in message ... Rob,
Thanks for the reply. I save everything in the 97-2003 format already. Also keep excel blank workbook, or another active workbook open almost all the time. I guess we will just have to wait. Grrr!!!
