Default Transition navigation keys

The transition navigation keys option makes it very easy to copy an equation
from column B - move over to column A (hit the End and Down Arrow keys to get
the number of rows needed - move back over to column B and paste. Thereby
only getting the equation copied in column B.

Is there a way to do this without selecting the transition key option -
thereby letting Excel be Excel.
