there are 2 forms of referencing in a formula. Absolute (indicated with a $
symbol) and relative (no symbol). When a relative referenced formula is
copied or dragged the column and/or row numbers will increment. Absolute
referenced cells will not. Hit F1 to bring up the hlep and type in Absolute
reference for further details...
