Default attachments

when I receive an email with an excel attachment, i double click on it and
excel opens up but there is no data. If i save the attachment to desktop and
try and open it i get the same result a blank spreadsheet. I know the data is
there becuase if I forward the email to another user in the office they can
successfully open it

Default attachments

Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

Maybe one of these will work for you.

is it possible the problem could be an Outlook issue ??

Anything is possible, but this has worked to fix the problem for others.
