Default Excel has no color

All excel workbooks opened on one of our office terminals are colorless. We
can open the workbook on a different terminal and it looks fine with
highlights, font colors, etc. However, when the same workbook is opened on
the first mentioned terminal, excel is completely colorless. The operator
cannot highlight cells or change font colors.
Please help to remedy our delimma.
