I have the same question. I have experienced the same problem with Excel
2003 Professional on my current work computer. Everyone in my office experiences this behavior. I have never encountered this problem before, at home or my previous job. I use Excel 2003 Small Busines at home and 2003 Professional at my previous job. I am aware of the issues with using merged cells, but they are minor for the work I do. I use merged cells frequently for a variety of reasons. Not being able to select and manipulate the entire row or column is fustrating. I too would like to know how to make it stop. If I remember correctly, this was the behavior in xl97. Each version of excel seems to behave a bit differently. For instance, xl2003 doesn't behave this way. I don't remember this ever happening before - is there an option somewhere that I can change? -- R Ormerod -- Dave Peterson |
