Default Why are some subtotals missing from my pivottable?

I have a large pivottable file and some of the selections I make come up with
a full array of row and column subtotals. Using other selections some of the
subtotals are missing. Does anyone have an idea what I should do to resolve
this please? I need the answer urgently. Thanks
