Default How do I turn OFF the GETPIVOTDATA function?

I often want to reference a cell value in a pivot table by simply clicking on
the cell (rather than typing in the cell reference) usually to use in a
separate formula. I could do this in previous versions of Excel. In the
current version of Excel I get the GETPIVOTDATA function which includes
absolute cell references which means I cannot drag the formula down. This is
quite minor but also enfuriating.

View / Toolbars / Pivot Table / Click on 'Generate PivotData' icon to toggle
function on/off

There are instructions here for adding the Generate GetPivotData button
to a toolbar, and toggling the feature on and off:
