Default Excel font for pinyin

Hi All
I've created a database of Chinese pinyin and english words that I
constantly filter, search through and add to.

Till now I've had to use a word macro to converts tonal codes (numbers next
to the vowels) into pinyin, and copy/paste the pinyin into excel to filter
/sort / search etc.... This takes a long time - I really want to convert the
english to pinyin direct in excel.

I've downloaded a "TrueType font" (.ttf) which allows me to type chinese
pinyin tonal codes and the convert them when I use the spacebar. The font is
called "4 KeyTimesRoman (Western)". I can use this new font successfully
in word and ppt, but I can't find / apply or use it in excel?

I even found and used it in VBA, but when I ran the macro in excel it still
didn't recognise the font.

Can anyone suggest how I get the new font to work in excel, or if there is a
macro I can use in excel to convert english to pinyin with tones?
