Default ACAD does not display Technic font properly in office 2003-why?

We just upgraded from windows 2000 to XP, and from office 2000 to 2003. We
often had used XL to generate BOM's for drawing- in Technic Bold font. The
XL sheets were copied & inserted in ACAD as a link. The linked Technic is
now displayed as rectangles & odd characters.

If you don't get a good response here, you may want to try an autocad forum.
