Default Sorting changes validation

Excel 2003. Validation of input works perfectly until the worksheet is
sorted. After sorting the worksheet the validations seem to stay in their
original row and column while the cells contents move according to the sort
criteria.

Can anyone explain please what is happening and how, when sorting, to get
the each cells validation to move with the cell it is validating so that it
continues to validate that cell and not the cell which is now in it's
original row and column position.

All help appreciated.
Thanks

There is no work around for sorting validation that I know of.
Also, borders and conditionally formatted colors do not sort with the data.

Default Sorting changes validation

Thanks Jim,
At least I now know that it really happens like I thought it did and there
is no way around it.
That in itself is useful information. I had all my validations working
perfectly and then all of a sudden they were not working anymore. You have
saved me from throwing more good time after plenty of bad. Your help is much
appreciated.
