The feature hasn't changed, it works the same as previous versions, and
apparently was not considered an important must change feature by the users whose input was taken. Why is that you place such a high priority on something that has an answer? I strongly believe that the gridlines are lost with fill colour is a long term shortcoming of Excel and is the weakness of this program that Microsoft seems not to know it.
