Default Custom Format xx=""

hi, have a custom format for number 9 to show nothing / works:
[=9]"";0

is there a way to make: xx to not show

xx is the "NOT" / error answer in a 2 / alpha-character column, where need
null answers to sort to end, but don't want to show the xx's, thanks
