Updating links

i have three spreadsheets that report into one as a summary. when i open the
summary sheet a message appears that says some or more of the links cannot be
updated. Yet when i go to the edit links page all the links have a status of
"ok". what is the problem here? can i be sure that all the data is being
updated?
